mourning dennis johnson

BROOKLYN, NY (February 23, 2007) - It brings us great pains here at the Atlanta Krunk Organization a professional basketball franchise that play within the CBA to express our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the entire basketball world and to the immediate friends and family of Dennis Johnson. His untimely passing has left a huge void in the basketball world. He will sorely be missed by Seattle, Phoenix and Boston fans all NBA teams he played on respectively, and by the Austin Toros of the NBA development league. Freedom Williams majority shareholder of the Krunk and VP says that "watching Dennis Johnson go up against the Lakers in those early 80’s rivalries and loving the Lakers it was difficult knowing that those lanky arms of DJ’s was going to trap Magic or steal the ball. He was truly an underrated offensive player, but his defense is legendary."

Johnson was a member of championship teams in Seattle (1979) and Boston (1984 and '86). He was named the most valuable player of the 1979 NBA Finals, was a five-time All-Star, a member of the NBA's all-defensive first team six times and the all-defensive second team three times. He also was a member of the All-NBA first team in 1981.

Johnson averaged 14.1 points, 5.0 assists and 3.9 rebounds in his career.
